Leprechaun movie plot:

Dan O'Grady goes back to North Dakota in 1983 from Ireland, where he was born. There, he kidnaps a leprechaun and steals his pot of gold. After O'Grady buries the treasure, he finds out that the bad leprechaun followed him home and killed his wife. Using a four-leaf clover, O'Grady takes away the leprechaun's powers and puts him in a box. He had a heart attack before he could burn him.

After ten years, J. D. Redding rents the O'Grady farmhouse for the summer with his daughter Tory, who is now a teenager. Contract workers Nathan Murphy, his 10-year-old brother Alex, and their friend Ozzie Jones are helping to paint the farmhouse. When Ozzie is searching the basement, he hears the leprechaun calling for help and mistakes him for a child. He lets the leprechaun out of the box by taking the old four-leaf clover out. Ozzie finds out from the leprechaun that he is an Irish shoemaker who came to America to find his fortune. Ozzie fails to convince the others that he saw a leprechaun, so he sees a rainbow and follows it, hoping to find a pot of gold. Alex follows him because he's afraid Ozzie might hurt himself. A bag with 100 gold coins magically appears before Ozzie. They hide the gold in an old well after Ozzie checks it out and eats a coin by accident, thinking that this will heal Ozzie's brain.

The leprechaun on the farm pretends to be a cat and bites J. D.'s hand, injuring him, before leading him into a trap. At the hospital, where Tory and the others have taken him, the leprechaun is seen riding a tricycle. Alex and Ozzie proceed to a pawn shop to verify the gold's authenticity, but the leprechaun kills the shopkeeper, Joe, for stealing his gold, then escapes after polishing Joe's shoes. The leprechaun builds himself a go-kart and speeds back to the farm, only to be pulled over by the cops. The officer is pursued by the leprechaun into the forest, where the officer is shot and killed. The leprechaun goes back to the farmhouse and seeks for his treasure while polishing every shoe he sees. The group travels back to the farmhouse after leaving J. D. off at the hospital. When Nathan explores outdoors after finding it plundered, a leprechaun-set bear trap injures him. Outside, the throng assaults the leprechaun and beats him with rocks and clubs.

After finding a gun in the house, the residents take many shots at the leprechaun. After trying to depart the site, they find that the truck's engine has been wrecked by the leprechaun. After crashing the car with the go-kart, the leprechaun terrorizes the group until Ozzie and Alex confess that they found the pot of gold. Tory fishes the purse out of the well and presents it to the leprechaun. Having decided that the worst is over, they go to the hospital. As the leprechaun tallies his gold, he learns that Ozzie stole the last coin. He threatens them because he thinks they're trying to trick him, but Ozzie reveals that O'Grady had a stroke and was taken to the hospital. The group distracts the leprechaun by throwing dirty shoes to him, and he ends up going to shine them as Tory drives off in her vehicle. To learn the secret of killing the leprechaun, Tory travels to the home.

The leprechaun pretends as O'Grady in the nursing home. The leprechaun follows Tory down to the elevator and, as the latter flees, throws O'Grady's body down the elevator shaft as Tory escapes. O'Grady informs her that the only way to kill the leprechaun is with a four-leaf clover, which just so happens to grow in a vast area outside the farm, before dying away. Tory goes back to the farmhouse to seek for a clover, but the leprechaun attacks and she is rescued by Nathan and Ozzie. The leprechaun is injured badly while trying to get the final gold coin, which Ozzie admits to having eaten. Alex takes a four-leaf clover that Tory unearthed, connects it to a wad of gum, (blog) and shoots it into the leprechaun's mouth, causing him to melt away before he can kill Ozzie. Despite tumbling into the well, the leprechaun's skeleton crawls out and proclaims, "I want my gold." After Nathan drives the leprechaun back into the well, he uses gasoline to light both things. When the police show there, Tory is reunited with her father, marries Nathan, and they have a kid. The leprechaun says he won't stop until he recovers every single piece of his money as the cops explore the well's debris.

This is another another instance of the cultural impact of George Lucas.

Leprechauns were meant to return to Ireland. Warwick Davis, who played the leprechaun, lacked a work visa. Davis required a visa in three days to shoot the last scene, an impossible job.
